I’m not sure why I love Dr. Mairo so much, but I know that this simple modification on Tetris is one of my most favorite puzzle video games.
Perhaps it’s because the mechanics of the game are basic enough, two color pills fall from the top of the screen towards a collection of similarly colored viruses below. You adjust these pills as they fall, moving and positioning to line-up four of the same colored blocks in a row. (These rows can and often are made-up-of both virus and pill bits.) Make a complete row and it is removed. Complete a stage or level by removing all of the viruses in this row by row fashion.
Simple but addictive. I know many evenings of work at the ole’ call center were spent with Dr. Mario and a classic SNES at my side.
